Overcoming Plateaus

Nutrition is probably one of the most confusing and poorly understood concepts to wrap your head around. Part of the problem comes the reality that a lot of what is put out in the industry seems conflicting and fuelled by opinions and influencers, rather than scientific processes. Add to that the fact that nutrition should be a highly personalised construct, that has to take into consideration many individual backgrounds, health, goals, socioeconomic and knowledge bases and it’s no surprise that it may seem difficult to know where to start. And that was my biggest problem I’d been dealing in creating this series – How to best present to you bare minimum science that goes into understanding nutrition without it requiring a university education. How to put forward actionable ideas and all of the steps you need to consider to making a start with your nutrition. And ultimately, how to arm you with all the tools you need to be able to intelligently scrutinise future articles, presentations and ideas that will inevitably be put forwards to you within this industry. Through this series, there are a few key learning outcomes

Machine Analysis & Individualisation

The muscles of the Back are where I see the most problems arising with respect to training.

There are many reasons as to why people tend to have a harder time with training the Back, but one of the biggest boils down to the actual biomechanics of these muscles as a whole, and what this means for a lot of the exercises we end up using.

This is a deep dive into all things “Back” Training. Specifically, we’re talking about Lats in this series – but a lot of the same biomechanical concepts apply to the entire back musculature.

In this series, you will learn

  • Why Back is such a poorly developed and trained region in most people
  • Why most commonly prescribed Back Exercises are generally poor choices
  • The best exercise choices for Back development
  • What goes into a Well Designed vs a Poorly Designed Machine
  • How to Individualise Machines to your personal structure.
