The muscles of the Back are where I see the most problems arising with respect to training.
There are many reasons as to why people tend to have a harder time with training the Back, but one of the biggest boils down to the actual biomechanics of these muscles as a whole, and what this means for a lot of the exercises we end up using.
This is a deep dive into all things “Back” Training. Specifically, we’re talking about Lats in this series – but a lot of the same biomechanical concepts apply to the entire back musculature.
In this series, you will learn
Through this series you’ll understand the underlying anatomy, function and implications for these muscles for strength, muscular development and Shoulder Pain.
One of the most poorly understood regions is the Mid-Back musculature – the Rhomboids & Traps. It is the area that I get the most questions on, and see one of the biggest potentials for improvement in training for its implications in posture, upper body stability and shoulder health. Through this series you’ll understand the underlying anatomy, function and implications for these muscles for strength, muscular development and Shoulder Pain.
